Slash Knocked Down On Stage By Fan

Posted in live shows, news with tags , , on June 17, 2010 by thirteenburn

According to stereoboard.com, ex-G ‘N’ R and current Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash, was knocked to the stage during a show in Milan. The guitarist was in the process of shredding the solo in Sweet Child ‘O Mine when a over-excited fan got past security. Tragically the guitar didn’t survive, but Slash was none the worse for wear.

“The guy who nailed me didn’t take me down but he busted my poor guitar. Ah well, it was a kick ass rock show.”

Slash Solo Album Streamed Online

Posted in general, mp3, news with tags , , on April 2, 2010 by thirteenburn

Excellent news for Slash fans: his upcoming self-titled solo effort is being streamed online via AOL.com‘s website, in advance of the upcoming May 10th release date.

Via nme.com:

Slash’s forthcoming solo album has been made available to stream online.

The self-titled solo record, which is released on May 10, features several guests including Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie, Ozzy Osbourne, Chris Cornell, Wolfmother’s Andrew Stockdale and Lemmy of Motorhead.

Slash tracklist:

‘Ghost’ (featuring Ian Astbury)
‘Beautiful Dangerous’ (featuring Fergie)
‘Nothing To Say’ (featuring M Shadows)
‘Crucify The Dead’ (featuring Ozzy Osbourne)
‘Promise’ (featuring Chris Cornell)
‘By The Sword’ (featuring Andrew Stockdale)
‘Doctor Alibi’ (featuring Lemmy)
‘Saint Is A Sinner Too’ (featuring Rocco De Luca)
‘Watch This’ (featuring Dave Grohl and Duff McKagan)
‘I Hold On’ (featuring Kid Rock)
‘Gotten’ (featuring Adam Levine)
‘We’re All Gonna Die’ (featuring Iggy Pop)
‘Starlight’ (featuring Myles Kennedy)

I just finished listening to the album and it’s one Hell of a record. I won’t go too much into detail, mostly because the music is still sinking in, but it’s by far his strongest solo work to date.

I also did a cursory search for possible upcoming tour dates and as of March 31st – found via mygnrforum.com – what appears to be a tentative set of dates is posted as follows:

04/08 – Los Angeles, CA: CLUB NOKIA Revolver Golden Gods
05/22 – Atlantic City NJ: The Music Box @ Borgata SOLD OUT
05/23 – Columbus Ohio: Rock On The Range
05/30 – Landgraaf,Netherlands: Pinkpop Festival Pinkpop
06/11-13 – Nickelsdorf, Austria: Nova Rock Nova Rock (Date TBD)
06/19 – Clisson, France: Hellfest Hellfest
08/07 – Osaka Japan: Summersonic Summersonic

Again, these dates were posted on a Guns ‘N’ Roses fansite/forum and therefore unconfirmed, but I would imagine that they are in fact, correct. I would also imagine that more dates will be added, dependent of course on ticket sales for the aforementioned shows. Should that be the case and more dates are added, I will post them here as soon as I can.

Cheers!
